Foundational Reading Skills- Welcome, early readers, to this engaging course where we will have fun playing with words, poems and other fun stories! Topics covered will include print concepts, phonics, and word recognition. This course is designed for beginning readers, KN-1st grade, but all are welcome to attend.  A work sample opportunity will be provided.

Join us in Exploring Fiction/Literature! This course is all about fiction. Help your child build on their reading skills by making inferences and understanding figurative language in Fables and other fun stories! Students conclude the course with some tips for writing their own fable.

Recommended for grades 4 and 5, but all students are welcome.

​Yes, grammar CAN be fun! Using standard English in speech and writing, this interactive course will review a few different grammar rules each week. Students will have fun learning about parts of speech, the difference between simple and compound sentences, and ending punctuation. Lots of hands-on learning in this course! Recommended for grades TK - 1, but all students are welcome.

Students will learn about strategies for figuring out what certain words and phrases mean by discussing figurative language,  prefixes, suffixes, and root words. This class is designed to provide students with strategies for understanding the hidden meanings of words. It is designed for grades 2-3, but all are welcome to attend.

Recommended for grades 4th and 5th, but all students are welcome.
