During our 5 weeks together, we will learn about the different elements of art.  What is art?  Why and how is it created?  We will then participate in a variety of art activities that will highlight the different elements of art we have learned about.  We will travel to Russia as we learn about the beautiful St. Basil's Cathedral and then over to Japan as we learn about the Great Wave of Hokusai.  We will connect the elements of art we have learned about and practice using them as we create our own St. Basil's Cathedral and Great Wave pieces of art.  It will be a fun and educational art journey.  I can’t wait to see you in class as we kick off the new school year with some learning and fun.  These Elevate classes will build on one another, so please try to come to each of the classes. A work sample opportunity will be provided. This class is intended for grades 4 and 5, but all students are welcome.
