Overview
Who were the brave people who helped start our independent country and what freedoms were they seeking? Come join us as we learn about the American Revolution, what caused it, why it was fought and who were the important players in the founding of the USA, the land of the free and the home of the brave. A work sample opportunity will be provided. Recommended for grades 4/5, but all students are welcome.

Math - Upper - A Fraction Ahead (S5)

Overview
Students will learn how to use models when multiplying fractions. Students will also learn how to add and subtract mixed numbers with like and unlike denominators and also compare two fractions with different numerators and denominators. Each week we will focus on a different topic as well as review concepts covered the week prior. Recommended for grades 4-5, but all students are welcome.

Language Arts - Upper - Fantastic Fables and Fiction! (S5)

Overview
Join us in Exploring Fiction/Literature! This course is all about fiction. Help your child build on their reading skills by making inferences and understanding figurative language in Fables and other fun stories! Students conclude the course with some tips for writing their own fable.
Recommended for grades 4 and 5, but all students are welcome.

Language Arts - Upper - Grammar is FUN, Isn't It? (S6)

Overview
Yes, grammar CAN be fun! Using standard English in speech and writing, this interactive course will review how to write a good sentence with correct punctuation. Students will practice using commas, quotation marks, and synonyms and have some fun learning a little Latin and Greek! A work sample opportunity will be provided. Recommended for grades 4th and 5th, but all students are welcome.
