Overview

Welcome all 4th graders! This course will provide step-by-step instructions for writing personal narratives. Students will learn how to enhance their writing pieces with descriptive, well-organized, multi-paragraph stories that capture their audience. Note: each week builds upon the last week’s skills so it is ideal to attend all classes. A work sample opportunity will be provided. Recommended for grades 4  but all students are welcome.

Once your student is registered, you will be emailed a registration confirmation that includes the Course Syllabus & Materials document.  It will include the Zoom link, state standards, expectations, and the materials that your student should have ready for class for each week.  After the class concludes, the slide presentations will be added to this document. 

Overview

Opinion Writing Workshop- Prove your point! Learn how to clearly write and express your opinion. This course will further develop and provide opportunities to practice using the writing process: choosing a topic, making a plan, writing a draft, revising, and editing. Note: each week builds upon the last week’s skills so it is ideal to attend all classes. A work sample opportunity will be provided. Recommended for grade 4 but all students are welcome.
