Overview

Students will be able to explain the relationship between molecules and organisms and how they interact within biological systems. This course will combine direct instruction with engaging hands-on activities, ensuring that students can participate fully in an online setting.  A work sample opportunity will be provided. Recommended for grades 6-12, but all students are welcome.

Writer's Club - 5th - Persuasiave Writing (S5)

After reading and reflecting on an informative text, can you answer an opinion writing prompt? Write your opinion in an organized way that clearly states your topic and groups related ideas together, using facts and details from the text, that support your opinion. This course will further develop and provide opportunities to practice using the writing process: choosing a topic, making a plan, writing a draft, revising, and editing.  A work sample opportunity will be provided.

Recommended for grades 4  but all students are welcome.

Course Time   Thursdays at 9 am

Science - Lower -Sun, Moon, and Stars, Oh My! (S5)

Get ready to create your own sundial and make hats with each of our planets on them. Let’s explore outer space!

MS/HS - Science - Earth and Human Activity (S6)

Overview

Using Google Earth, students will be taking virtual field trips to explore natural landscapes and phenomena around the world that have been affected by human activity. Students will utilize skills in inquiry and critical thinking skills to answer questions, and identify problems that currently exist as well as future problems. They will also have the opportunity to brainstorm solutions to these problems.  A work sample opportunity will be provided. Recommended for grades 6-12, but all students are welcome.
