MS/HS - Science - Investigating Like a Scientist (S1)

Overview
This course will focus on incorporating middle school and high school science skills that will provide the essentials for how to approach science discovery, scientific method, engineering process, data collection and analysis, and lab writing. Each class will provide a demo or experience that will allow the student to practice these essentials and transfer them to their science content courses. A work sample opportunity will be provided. Recommended for grades 6-12, but all students are welcome.

Writer's Club - 5th - The Narrative Journey: Personal Narrative (S1)

Overview
Writer’s Club: Personal Narrative -Let’s get writing, 5th graders! Learn how to use descriptive writing to paint a vivid picture in your reader’s mind. Join us to practice writing a personal narrative using good technique, detailed descriptions and clear sequencing in such a way that will capture the attention of your readers. Note: each week builds upon the last week’s skills so it is ideal to attend all classes. A work sample opportunity will be provided. Recommended for grades 5 but all students are welcome.

MS/HS - Enrichment - Discovering the Leader in Me, Pt 1 (S1)

Overview
Come join Rex Sheridan (Mental Health Professional) to explore to topic of leadership and develop important internal and relational skills to allow you to be an effective leader. We will use interactive and engaging activities and discussions to expand the student’s knowledge of various aspects of leadership and encourage students to practice and utilize these skills within the class. Part 1 of the training will be completed in the fall and Part 2 will be completed in the Spring for students who choose to complete both. This class is for grades 6-12.

Students will learn all about wacky weather here on planet Earth. They will learn how to chart weather, how it changes over the seasons, and how different types of weather affect them. We will be making Clouds in a jar and creating our own frost! Get ready for some wacky weather fun!

Science - Upper - Our Changing Earth (S1)

Students will explore how our Earth changes due to erosion and weathering. We will also explore how the 4 Earth Systems are a part of this process. With interactive and hands-on activities students will have a lot to share about our ever-changing planet.
