Social Studies - Lower - Let's Get Connected to Our Community (S7)

Overview
Let’s learn about the many different communities and people who make them great! Also, we will learn about the history of the Native Americans and the tradition of the totem pole. While learning about these lessons, we will also see how we fit in and contribute to our communities. A work sample opportunity will be provided. Recommended for grades K-1, but all students are welcome.

We will be learning about the golden rules and laws and how they are made. What is the Constitution and why is it important to you? And what are some of the national symbols and landmarks that we recognize that bring us together as a community? A work sample opportunity will be provided. Come learn more about our new nation from 1789 to the Mid-1800s. Now that we’re independent, what came next? Who was coming to America, where were they going, and how was our brand new country changing to adapt to all this growth, new people, and new discoveries? It was an exciting time in America, come learn why! A work sample opportunity will be provided. Recommended for grades 4-5, but all students are welcome.
