Overview

This class will connect what we know and real-world experiences by allowing students to explore the vastness of space and its wonders. They will learn about space including the sun, moon, stars, and planets, and Earth’s unique role in the universe. Understanding these celestial bodies with an art focus will help students appreciate and learn about our planet and beyond. A work sample opportunity will be provided. Recommended for grades TK-1, but all students are welcome.

Let’s learn about the many different communities and people who make them great!  Also,  we will learn about the history of the Native Americans and the tradition of the totem pole.  While learning about these lessons, we will also see how we fit in and contribute to our communities. A work sample opportunity will be provided. Recommended for grades K-1, but all students are welcome.

Math - Lower - Going on a Shape Hunt (S7)

Students will learn names of shapes, two-dimensional shapes, three-dimensional shapes, how to compare two and three-dimensional shapes apart, and how to solve word problems. Opinion Writing for Young Children. Calling all pet lovers! Let’s share about our favorite pets and learn how to write an opinion piece. Children love to listen to stories about animals. This course will help them learn how to express themselves on paper through drawings, dictation, and writing.  Recommended for grades TK, K, and 1, but all students are welcome.

Overview

We are going to take a trip around the world and explore what it is like to live in different countries. We will talk about the different cultures and how living there may be different from what life is like living here in America. Lastly, we will conclude each class by learning about a type of art that is traditionally done in that specific country. Students will have an opportunity to participate by making their own version of that type of art.  A work sample opportunity will be provided. Recommended for grades TK-1, but all students are welcome.
