Math - Upper - PEMDAS and Expressions (S2)

Overview
Students will learn addition and subtraction of larger numbers, multiplication and division arrays, order of operations, and word problems. Each week we will focus on a different topic, and review concepts covered the week prior. A work sample opportunity will be provided. Recommended for grades 4-5, but all students are welcome.

In this fun course, students will enjoy comparing and contrasting different stories, cultures, and authors’ points of view. Students will develop their comprehension skills and gain a deeper understanding of stories. A work sample opportunity will be provided. Recommended for grades 4 and 5, but all students are welcome.

Writer's Club - 5th - Crafting Compelling Opinions: Opinion Writing (S2)

Overview
Writer’s Club: Opinion Writing- Write your opinion in an organized way that clearly states your topic and groups related ideas together, using facts and details, that support your opinion. This course will further develop and provide opportunities to practice using the writing process: choosing a topic, making a plan, writing a draft, revising and editing. Note: each week builds upon the last week’s skills so it is ideal to attend all classes. A work sample opportunity will be provided. Recommended for grades 5 but all students are welcome.

Students will “Fall in Love” with art as we celebrate the season by exploring the depth of colors, use of space, natural textures, value in shade, simplicity of lines, use of shapes and forms, in our most cherished fall symbols and imagery.
