Overview

Students will have the opportunity to experience the history of the Rennaissance period during this five week session. They will learn about the culture, ideas, and influential people of the time. A work sample opportunity will be provided. Recommended for grades 6-12, but all students are welcome.

MS/HS - Writing - Informational Writing (S5)

In this five-week class, students will work on the practice of Informational Writing. They will be taken through the steps of using informational sources to support their writing, the practice of citing their sources, and further developing general writing skills. Using Google Earth, students will be taking virtual field trips to explore natural landscapes and phenomena around the world that have been affected by human activity. Students will utilize skills in inquiry and critical thinking skills to answer questions, and identify problems that currently exist as well as future problems. They will also have the opportunity to brainstorm solutions to these problems.  A work sample opportunity will be provided. Recommended for grades 6-12, but all students are welcome.

MS/HS - Enrichment - Discovering the Leader in Me (Pt 2) (S6)

Overview

Come join Rex Sheridan (Mental Health Professional) and explore Peer Leadership for PCA!  When training is fully completed, students will have advanced their knowledge of basic leadership concepts.  

This course will be based loosely upon concepts from the book “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens” along with other important topics created by the facilitator. This second part is also an extension of Part 1 offered in LP3 of this school year but participation in Part 1 is not required to register for Part 2. A work sample opportunity will be provided. Recommended for grades 6-12.
